CITY OF SMILES
Published in the debut issue of Panel Magazine, short story CITY OF SMILES is a dark fantasy about identity and fame, inspired by a ‘real’ newspaper story about a school in 1930s Budapest that taught people how to smile.
ISLE OF NOISES
ISLE OF NOISES is a reverse-flow short story about a hedonistic night at the Sziget music festival, written to celebrate the month of July and translated into Hungarian for the Nagy Kepes almanac.
THE INTENSIFIED SKY
“Our science used to be so macho, so aggressive. Look at the words we used. We broke the sound barrier. We collided particles. We split the atom. The next big code to crack was deep space travel. Who would have thought? The best way to travel to the stars - is by making friends with tiny birds?”
Coming soon: Matthew's debut novel.
